There are hundreds of incredible individuals and charities right across Watford doing amazing things, and with an ageing population, looking after our elderly has never been more important.

So to hear that Watford Borough Council is working in partnership with Watford & Three Rivers Trust to introduce Pensioners’ Forums this year can only be a positive thing. Already running successfully in Three Rivers, now Watford pensioners will have the opportunity to get involved.

The first forum will be held on Tuesday 12 March, from 2-4pm in Committee Rooms 2 and 3 at the Town Hall in Watford. It will be chaired by Deputy Mayor Karen Collett and guest speakers will be invited to sessions.

The Pensioners’ Forum is free to attend and is a great way for residents in Watford to meet, hear information and helpful advice from guest speakers as well as have their say on a range of issues. It’s also a good opportunity to meet new people and chat over tea and cake.

Elected Mayor of Watford Peter Taylor said: “I want Watford to be a town for everyone and I’m really pleased that we are able to offer Watford’s older residents this opportunity. Please do come along if you’d like to be involved and tell anyone who you think may be interested. We look forward to seeing you there.”
