Brexit, Brexit, Brexit – what art thou Brexit?
Thursday 23rd June 2016 was the date, and now almost two and half years on since the EU Referendum, Brexit is proving to be a difficult task, a lot harder than initially anticipated.
New Europeans (NE), a vibrant and proactive network, founded by Roger Casale, which supports Europeans living in the UK as well as many British nationals living elsewhere in Europe are inviting EU citizens living in Watford for a meting and Q&A session with the Mayor of Watford – Peter Taylor, Deputy Mayor – Karen Collett and Councillor Aga Dychton.
One of the main speakers at the event will be Christopher Benn, an immigration lawyer specialising in EU free movement law. His law firm Seraphus works with European Commission Representation in London, providing legal advice on EU citizens’ rights and the new Home Office EU settlement scheme.
Michal Siewniak, Regional Coordinator for New Europeans in East of England said: “New Europeans do a huge amount of work here in the UK as well as in Europe to highlight some of these issues and challenges. In partnership with other similarly minded organisations, we are trying to use every opportunity to make our voices heard. It is very important, particularly now when many fantastic EU citizens living in Britain are still portrayed in a negative light. We hope that our meeting will be an opportunity to raise our concerns and continue dialogue with our leading politicians.”
